Help us Build and Support
La Escuela Bilingue los Algarrobos.
Canoa is a small fishing village on the northern coast of Ecuador. Because many of its families live on less than $250 per month, education has not always been an option for the children.
A little money goes a long way.
An entire classroom can built for $10,000.
For only $100 per month, a child's tuition can be paid.
The parents asked for our help in making this school a reality, and we are now asking you to help us.
Your contributions are fully tax-deductable.

Our School
The school opened April 17, 2008, with two kindergarten and one first grade class. La Escuela los Algarrobos teaches basics from the Ecuadorian Ministry of Education-required curriculum. Approved as an “experimental” school, the method of teaching this curriculum is left to the school. We are working to use more modern and proven methods of early childhood education. English is taught as a second language by volunteer teachers. We are the only elementary school in the area with computers for the students. We also teach basic health practices and environmental education as part of our core curriculum.
